Reservation Policy

The Union Gables Inn is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. Because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last minute cancellation leaves us little chance of filling the reserved space. For this reason, Union Gables Inn maintains a firm cancellation policy.

Guests who arrive after their intended arrival date or check out before their intended departure date are responsible for the days reserved in full.

GIFT CERTIFICATE POLICY
Gift certificates MUST be noted when making the reservation. Gift certificates are not transferable. Any remaining amount on gift certificates can be used at a later day up to the expiration date. Gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash. No refunds will be made if the gift certificate is not entered at the time of placing the reservation.

For different times of the year we have different policies, so please select from the list below if you are staying during the (1) SARATOGA RACING SEASON, (2) SPECIAL EVENT WEEKEND or (3) DAYS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OTHER THAN SPECIAL WEEKENDS

(1) FOR RESERVATIONS DURING THE SARATOGA RACING SEASON:  2017 Racing Season dates run from July 21, 2017 until September 4, 2017, or based upon NYRA.com Saratoga Racing Season schedule. A deposit of $100 by credit card is due upon booking, which is applied toward the balance of the reservation. All remaining payments must be made by check. Payment is due in full for the balance of the reservation within 10 business days of booking. If payment is not received within 10 business days of receipt of confirmation, we have the right to cancel your reservation. $100 deposit is non-refundable under the cancellation policy.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR THE SARATOGA RACING SEASON:
All cancellations must be made in writing by email. An email receipt of your cancellation will be sent to you. A refund is given ONLY if the room has been re-rented equal to the dates reserved. If re-rented, a refund check is mailed minus the $100 cancellation fee.

(2) FOR RESERVATIONS DURING SPECIAL EVENT WEEKENDS* 
At the time of booking, your credit card on file will be charged for the first night. Final payment for the balance will be charged to the credit card on file fourteen (14) days prior to arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR SPECIAL EVENT WEEKENDS:
You may cancel this reservation, in writing or e-mail. All cancellations must be made in writing by email. An email receipt of your cancellation will be sent to you. A refund is given ONLY if the room has been re-rented equal to the dates reserved. If re-rented, a refund check is mailed minus the $50 cancellation fee. All cancellations will be charged a $50 processing fee.

* SPECIAL WEEKENDS INCLUDE: SKIDMORE GRADUATION, SKIDMORE PARENT WEEKENDS, SKIDMORE REUNION, MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND, 'HEAD OF THE FISH' ROWING REGATTA WEEKEND, NEW YEAR’S EVE, DANCE FLURRY FESTIVAL WEEKEND, SARATOGA HORSE SALE DAYS, SPECIAL CONCERT WEEKENDS AND THE ENITRE SARATOGA RACING MEET. Special Event weekends not listed here can be determined without prior notice.

(3) FOR RESERVATIONS DURING WEEKDAYS AND WEEKENDS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OTHER THAN SPECIAL WEEKENDS 
Your credit card on file will be charged a $50.00 deposit, and the balance will be charged within fourteen (14) days prior to your arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR DAYS OTHER THAN SPECIAL WEEKENDS:  For cancellations of fourteen (14) days or less, the guest is responsible for the full value of the reservation. You may cancel this reservation, in writing or e-mail within 14 days. All cancellations will be charged a $50 processing fee. For cancellations less than 14 days, the guest is responsible for the full value of the reservation reserved unless re-rented. A refund is given ONLY if the room has been re-rented equal to the dates reserved. If re-rented, a refund check is mailed minus the $50 cancellation fee. All cancellations will be charged a $50 processing fee.

GROUP RESERVATIONS: A Group reservation is defined by three (3) rooms. We do not take reservations for more than three rooms for any one reservation. At the time of booking, your credit card on file will be charged for the first night for each room. Final payment for the balance will be charged to the credit card on file fourteen (14) days prior to arrival. Guests who would like to pay for the balance of their room on the reservation MUST call Union Gables at (518) 584-1558, to add their information into a separate reservation. If we do not hear from the guests for these separations, payment will be made responsible for the person that made the reservation. The credit card on file will be charged fourteen (14) days prior to arrival.

CANCELLATION FOR A GROUP RESERVATION: You may cancel this reservation, in writing by e-mail. A refund is given ONLY if the room has been re-rented equal to the dates reserved. If re-rented, a refund check is mailed minus the $50 cancellation fee for each room. Each room will be charged a $50 cancellation processing fee.

For multiple names on a single reservation, we only accept one credit card for payment. Payment may not be split between guests.

Events: All event fees are non-refundable.

Keys: Please be advised that keys not returned to the Innkeeper will incur a $50 charge.

Check-in time: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM. If arriving outside of check-in times, please call us to make arrangements. (518) 584-1558.

Check-out time: 11:00 AM.

Absolutely No Smoking inside, however designated outdoor smoking areas are available. A minimum charge of $500.00, if smoking in your room is detected.

Pets are allowed in seven (7) of our guest rooms with an additional pet fee. Please respect our pet rules, which are given to you upon arrival. This fee does <b>not</b> include damages to towels, sheets, blankets, quilts, rugs and furniture. A determination of damage will be assessed and charges will be applied for any damage.

Children: Throughout the year, we welcome children twelve (12) years of age and older. If a reservation is made, or a change in reservation is made, where a child under the age of twelve (12) is staying, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation upon arrival.
