The Union Gables Inn is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. For different times of the year we have different policies, so please select from the list below if you are staying during the (1) SARATOGA RACING SEASON, (2) SPECIAL EVENT WEEKEND or (3) DAYS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OTHER THAN SPECIAL WEEKENDS
(1) FOR RESERVATIONS DURING THE SARATOGA RACING SEASON: 2017 Racing Season dates run from July 21, 2017 until September 4, 2017. A deposit of $100 by credit card is due upon booking, which is applied toward the balance of the reservation. All remaining payments should be made by check. Payment is due in full for the balance of the reservation within 10 days of booking. $100 deposit is non-refundable under the cancellation policy.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR THE SARATOGA RACING SEASON:
A refund is given ONLY if the room has been re-rented equal to the dates reserved. If re-rented, a refund check is mailed minus the $100 cancellation fee. If original payment or partial payment was made with a credit card, 5% from the total refund amount will be subtracted for credit card fees incurred from an initial transaction(s). All cancellation refunds will be made by check.
(2) FOR RESERVATIONS DURING SPECIAL EVENT WEEKENDS*
At the time of booking, your credit card on file will be charged for the first night. Final payment for the balance will be charged to the credit card on file within seven (7) days prior to arrival.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR SPECIAL EVENT WEEKENDS:
You may cancel this reservation, in writing or e-mail. A refund is given ONLY if the room has been re-rented equal to the dates reserved. If re-rented, a refund check is mailed minus the $25 cancellation fee. If original payment or partial payment was made with a credit card, 5% from the total refund amount will be subtracted for credit card fees incurred from the initial transaction(s).
* SPECIAL WEEKENDS INCLUDE: SKIDMORE GRADUATION, SKIDMORE PARENT WEEKENDS, SKIDMORE REUNION, MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND, 'HEAD OF THE FISH' ROWING REGATTA WEEKEND, NEW YEAR’S EVE, DANCE FLURRY FESTIVAL WEEKEND, DAVE MATTHEWS CONCERT WEEKEND AND PHISH CONCERT WEEKEND. Special Event weekends not listed here can be determined without prior notice.
(3) FOR RESERVATIONS DURING WEEKDAYS AND WEEKENDS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR OTHER THAN SPECIAL WEEKENDS
Your credit card on file will be charged within 72 hours (3 days) prior to your arrival, and your receipt is emailed to you unless you request a printed receipt at check-in.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR DAYS OTHER THAN SPECIAL WEEKENDS: If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 72 hours (three (3) days) prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation. Within the 72 hours prior to your arrival day, a refund is given ONLY if the room has been re-rented equal to the dates reserved. All cancellations will be charged a $25 processing fee.
Group reservations: A Group reservation is defined by three (3) or more rooms and can be based upon a group party name and/or individual reservations for the same event. ie. Weddings, Family Gatherings, Birthday celebrations, etc. For three (3) or more rooms reserved, a 25% down payment is required at the time of booking payable by check and mailed within 10 business days of placing the reservation. Balance of the reservation is due 30 days prior to arrival. In the unlikely event that you must cancel please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. If we can re-book your room(s), a full refund will be made, minus the cancellation fee ($25) for each room reserved.
Events: All event fees are non-refundable.
Keys: Please be advised that keys not returned to the Innkeeper will incur a $50 charge.
Check-in time: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM. If arriving outside of check-in times, please call us to make arrangements. (518) 584-1558.
Check-out time: 11:00 AM.
Absolutely No Smoking inside, however designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
Pets are allowed in seven (7) of our guest rooms with an additional pet fee. Please respect our pet rules, which are given to you upon arrival.
Children: Throughout the year, we welcome children twelve (12) years of age and older.
GIFT CERTIFICATE POLICIES
Gift certificates MUST be noted when making the reservation and presented at check-in along with a valid driver's license. Gift certificates are not transferable. Any remaining amount on gift certificates can be used at a later day up to the expiration date. Gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash.
